This project the goal was to create a cross-promotional advertising poster, with any organization or event. The cross-promotional poster combines a still poster with animated motion, using the Artivive application.
This poster for the Fandemic Dead Tour seeks to draw attention and inform the audience of the event. Within this poster, the still poster will drawn the audience in by the eerie and unsettling tone. Then, with the use of animated motion, this suspense will transform into surprise for the audience ultimately drawing them to the event.

The Fandemic Tour is a convention that brings fans their favorite characters from popular sci-fi and horror movies and shows. Within this convention, customers have the opportunity to purchase general admission tickets and photo op tickets. This company started in 2017 by John Macaluso. One aspect that Macaluso strives for is to take care of the fans, whether that is allowing easier ways to purchase tickets or providing them with the most anticipated celebrities. Although this convention is typically a general sci-fi and horror convention, The Fandemic Dead Tour is a specific convention highlighting a show, The Walking Dead.
I initially gravitated towards using a sketchy style to portray the "walkers," or zombies, within the show. Since this show is based off of a comic book, I felt that a sketch style would relate to that. However, the realistic style worked the best considering hierarchy and layout of important information.
Inspiration + Sketches
Although I had not originally planned on this style, I think the realistic style added another layer of suspense and eeriness that was missing within the hand drawn style.
Animation Key Frames
For the animation aspect of this project, I was unsure which direction I wanted to go since I had not previously worked with After Effects, this lead me to creating more sketches than I had originally thought I needed.
I chose to further develop the keyframe sketch to the right, to tie-in the spray paint aspect shown within the poster. I wanted to create suspense in the animation eventually leading up to the surprise of the special guest list for the convention.
